Dr. Rodgers (she/her) is an Associate Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with joint appointments in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science. She is a licensed clinical psychologist whose practice has focused on adolescents/young adults (AYAs) and their families living in low-income urban communities. She has extensive experience in developing and implementing health interventions in school and community settings and collaborating with community partners. One area of focus in her work is examining factors associated with successful transition from pediatric to adult healthcare among AYAs who have Sickle Cell Diseases.

Description

The transition from pediatric to adult care for patients is one of the deadliest times for patients with Sickle Cell Disease. In this presentation, Dr. Rodgers will be discussing her work on the transition from pediatric to adult care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease, and considerations for successful transitions in care.
